What to Expect at Your First Meeting

Before Your First Meeting

Welcome!

Meeting with Fairvoy financial advisor for the first time is a big step, and we want you to feel prepared for it. Here’s what our first conversation looks like, and how you can make the most of your time with us.

How to Prepare

Key Takeaways

  • This first meeting is a conversation, not a sales pitch — we want to get to know you and what matters most to you.
  • There’s no cost and no obligation. You’re never pressured to move forward afterward.
  • Plan for about 60 minutes together.
  • We’ll ask about your goals, your priorities, and anything that’s on your mind financially.
  • If you’re able, bring (or send ahead) copies of your recent financial statements — it helps, but isn’t required.
  • Your questions matter. Bring anything you’ve been wondering about — nothing is off limits.

Our Process

Where Your First Meeting Fits In

Every relationship at Fairvoy follows the same four-step process. Your first meeting is entirely about the first step — Explore the Vision — getting to know you before anything else happens.

Today’s Meeting

Explore the Vision

We learn what matters most: your goals, priorities, and what you want your money to do for you.

Map the Journey

We organize your accounts, review cash flow, evaluate risks, and identify planning opportunities.

Embark on the Voyage

We put a strategy into motion — investments, savings systems, retirement contributions, and more.

Ongoing Navigation

We continue to meet, review, and adjust as markets and life change.

Today is about listening — nothing more.

We won’t ask you to make any decisions or commit to anything at this meeting. Steps two through four only come into play once we’ve had the chance to understand your full picture and you’ve decided you’d like to move forward with us.

The Conversation

What We’ll Talk About

There’s no set script — this meeting follows your lead. In general, we’ll spend our time on three things.

Your Goals

What you’re working toward

What are you hoping to accomplish, near term and long term? What do you want your money to do for you and the people you care about?

Your Concerns

What’s on your mind

What’s keeping you up at night financially — market volatility, taxes, retirement readiness, or a life change you’re navigating?

Your Questions

This is your meeting too

Bring anything you’ve been wondering about — how we work, what we charge, or anything else. Nothing is off the table.

How to Prepare

What to Bring

You don’t need to prepare a presentation — just yourself and your questions. That said, if you’re able to gather copies of a few recent statements beforehand, it helps us get to know your full picture faster. If you would like to share your documents before our meeting, let us know and we will provide a secure link (for security reasons, please do not email us your financial documents).

Investment & Brokerage Statements

Any taxable brokerage or investment account statements you have on hand.

Retirement Account Statements

401(k), 403(b), IRA, or similar workplace and individual retirement accounts.

Bank & Savings Statements

Checking, savings, or cash management accounts.

Most Recent Tax Return

Helpful if available, but not required for this first conversation.

Estate Planning Documents

A will, trust, or power of attorney, if you already have them in place.

Insurance Policy Summaries

Life, disability, or long-term care coverage you currently carry.

Don’t have everything on this list? Don’t worry.

Bring whatever you have readily available — we can always follow up for anything else after we meet. Nothing here is a requirement to keep your appointment.

After Your Meeting

What Happens Next

There’s no pressure to decide anything at your first meeting. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, here’s the general shape of what comes next.

1

We Take Time to Reflect

After we talk, our team reviews what we’ve learned about your goals and situation before recommending any next step.

2

We Follow Up With You

We’ll reach out with our impressions and, if it makes sense, what working together could look like — no obligation attached.

3

You Decide What’s Next

If you’d like to move forward, we begin Map the Journey — organizing your full financial picture. If not, that’s okay too.

No. There is no cost and no obligation for an introductory meeting. It’s simply a conversation to see whether working together makes sense.
Bring whatever you have on hand. We can always follow up for anything else after we’ve talked — it won’t hold up our conversation.
Various members of our team will be included in the first meeting, typically including one of the founders and co-founders of the firm.
That’s completely fine. There’s no pressure or obligation to move forward after this meeting — it exists so both sides can make an informed decision.
